TRANSLATION-INTERPRETING WORLDS: Interpreting Studies -->

Interpreting Studies

     There are many modes of interpreting:
  • Sign language interpreting
  • Community interpreting
  • Consecutive interpreting
  • Simultaneous interpreting
  • Sight Interpreting. Sometimes, this mode is called sight translation
   Thus, research in interpreting can be broad or more specific, i.e. either devoted to only one mode of them or to the whole field. It can be conducted from different perspectives with different approaches, more or less, similar to the perspectives and approaches of research in translation. They are as follows:

1- History of Interpreting
2- Theory of Interpreting
3- Didactics of Interpreting
4- Interpreting Modes: Techniques & Strategies
5- Interpreting Workshops
6- Developments in Interpreting Studies
7- Research Methods in Interpreting Studies
8- Assessment of Interpreting
9- Magister Theses & Doctoral Dissertaions
